When you get a cold or flu, there are many natural remedies that can alleviate the symptoms.

As our body does not always get the proper nutrition it requires to build a strong immune defence, it can be open to so many different illnesses.

Of course there is no doubt that prevention is definitely better than the cure, that is living the perfect way, but unfortunately for most of us we realise this when the old cold or flu has arrived.

The following are suggestion to beat off the cold or flu:

1. B Vitamins are fantastic for over all immunity and good health.

2. Elderberry is great for head colds and also provides great support for your immune system including breaking a fever.

3. Garlic can be great also as a cold medicine.

4. Ginseng boosts your energy including immunity. It is well known to prevent colds and flu. Check out reputable health food stores. Some of the varieties to look out for would be American, Korean and Siberian.

5. Hot Water a slice of lemon and spoon of honey every morning helps to prevent sore throats

6. Stop exercise and sever mental work during a cold or flu as it only helps to prolong the flu

7. To improve your immune system eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and stay away from processed foods.

8. Rest. It is a vital factor for getting rid of colds and flu, go to bed and take plenty of hot drinks. Hot water, honey and a slice of lemon morning and evening.
