By Christine Imamshah

Wouldn’t you agree that an earache can be one of the most annoying issues to have to deal with? While they’re not usually a serious matter they are always painful and bothersome. Earaches are more common in children, however, adults also occasionally suffer from them as well. By reading through this entire article you will learn how to get rid of an earache in simple natural ways.

The first thing I want to emphasize for you is not to use Q-Tips or any other similar object in your ears as you could case damage to your ear drum. In addition, if your earache is caused by a build up of wax you could make the situation worse using something that you push into your ear by causing the wax build up to go even deeper into your ear which may make the pain worse. Your inner ear is very tender and needs to be treated as such.

How to get rid of an earache, naturally; ( These remedies come from people who have tried them as well as myself)

1. Warm Towel – You can place a warm damp towel, or a heating pad could work just as well, on the affected ear. This is very helpful in soothing earaches.

2. Olive Oil – Take a small amount of olive oil and warm it (test it on your the underside of your wrist before putting into your ear to make sure that it isn’t too hot) and put a few drops into the affected ear. Tilt your head to the opposite side of the affected ear to let the oil flow down into your ear. I’ve also read that you can do this with Garlic oil which has natural antiseptic and antibiotic properties which could help soothe your ear.

3. Blowdryer – Some have reported that using your blow dryer to gently warm the ear helps to soothe the pain as well. This would be highly effective especially if the earache is a result of Swimmer’s Ear.

4. Mullein Oil -Mullein oil is a traditional Native American cure. What this does is reduces the swelling and inflammation which are causing the pain. You heat the oil to just above body temperature and then apply one or two drops into the affected ear.

Give these methods some consideration as well as think about taking some immune boosting supplements like, Echinacea, Vitamin C & E as these will help your body to heal itself. Keep doing your research also as there are many other natural remedies for earaches that might be helpful for you.

In most situations there are natural remedies for every condition that affects us so always seek out the natural solution.
