Adding ginger while cooking food and taking honey with each meal is very beneficial for migraines and also for other types of headaches. Walking briskly reduces tension, increase blood flow, and provides immediate relaxation. Acupressure is the simple remedy, applying steady rotating pressure on the painful area on head using thumb or index finger provides quick relaxation.

Resting and lying in a low-lit room helps in reducing the tension in the neck, shoulders, and head. Excessive muscle contractions around neck can also lead to headaches, and this can be treated by physical therapy. Following proper diet is very important to prevent headaches, certain foods trigger headaches and it is best to avoid them in daily diet.
